LAW 746-01 Legal Aid Clinic 3 credits
Students work in the Williamsburg office of Legal Aid Society of Eastern Virginia, providing legal services to indigent people in a variety of civil matters under the supervision of a faculty member. The legal work done by the students provides the basis for an exploration of the profession and the justice system. There is a one-hour classroom meeting per week in addition to office hours at Legal Services. In the classroom time, students discuss readings and their ongoing casework, exploring issues relevant to their client work. Third-Year practice required. Enrollment is limited to six students.
