Angela Banks

November 12 - In a story in Virginia Lawyers Weekly, Professor Jeffrey Bellin commented on Virginia evidence Rule 2:408 ("a trap for the unwary") in the context of news that the Supreme Court of Virginia is amending the rule. Professor Bellin is noted as author of a book on Virginia evidence rules [The Virginia and Federal Rules of Evidence: A Concise Comparison with Commentary (2015), Online]. February 24 -  In August 2013 a three-judge Special Committee appointed Professor Jeffrey Bellin as Special Counsel to investigate a misconduct complaint filed against a prominent federal judge. December 2 - A post on the "Truth on the Market" blog was devoted to news of an amicus brief submitted by the International Center for Law & Economics (ICLE) that asked the Supreme Court to grant cert. in U.S. v. Apple, a recent decision by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. W. Taylor Reveley, III

April 6 - The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation has awarded William & Mary a $2.6-million grant to establish the W. Taylor Reveley III Interdisciplinary Faculty Fellows. Reveley was sworn in as W&M's 27th President in 2008. Before assuming his current post, he served as dean of William & Mary Law School for almost a decade, starting in August 1998. He is the John Stewart Bryan Professor of Jurisprudence. Read the story

December 30 - Professor Patricia Roberts, director of clinical programs and director of the Puller Veterans Benefits Clinic, was a guest on a special edition of the John Fredricks Show (WHTK AM 1650 - Hampton Roads, and other stations) hosted by Congressman Rob Wittman (R-VA). Professor Roberts spoke about the work of the Puller Clinic and veterans' issues. A link to the audio recording will be posted when available.

November 23 - Professor Patricia Roberts, director of the Puller Veterans Benefits Clinic and director of Clinical Programs, talked to Starbucks Newsroom about Military Mondays, a pilot project launched in Williamsburg by Starbucks and the clinic that provides veterans and their families an opportunity to meet over coffee and receive free advice and counsel. According to the story, individuals and programs across the country have expressed interest in becoming involved. Read the story.

November 7 -  The Virginian-Pilot published an essay by Professor Patricia Roberts titled "Vets Just Want Fair Benefits." Read the essay.
