Anne B. Shumadine '83: An Investment in a Law Degree Paid Dividends for Her Clients and for Her Community

Shumadine '83, the recipient of the Law School Association's 2011 Citizen-Lawyer Award, is a former math teacher who found a new calling in law. While handling investment porfolios for her clients, she also has found time to become involved in schools and organizations in her community. Click here for story.

Lee Professor William Van Alstyne Offers Congressional Testimony on Legislation to Extend FBI Director's Term

Professor Van Alstyne has been invited dozens of times to Capitol Hill to offer his expert opinion.  On June 8, he testified before the Congressional Commitee on the Judiciary on legislation to extend FBI Director Robert Mueller's term until 2013. Click here for story and link to C-SPAN video.

Mary Siegrist Hinz Fellowship Program Marks 25th Anniversary

Four Students Selected for Equal Justice Works Summer Corps Grants

Claire de Jong '12, Andrew Hass '12, Michelle Hopkins '12, and Meredith McCoy '12 will receive grants as part of a program to support law students who provide legal assistance to low-income or underserved communities. Click here for story.

Beijing Property Rights Conference to Focus on Global Perspectives

On Oct. 14-15, the Property Rights Project will host its annual conference for the first time overseas in cooperation with the Tsinghua School of Law. Justice Sandra Day O'Connor will be honored at the conference and also will be a featured speaker.
