Directory of Services for Visitors

The Wolf Law Library is open during normal library hours to College of William and Mary students, faculty and staff, members of the Virginia bench and bar, and to the general public.

Borrowing items

Residents of Williamsburg, James City County and York County, employees of Colonial Williamsburg and the National Center for State Courts, W&M Law School alumni, and members of the Virginia Bench and Bar may purchase borrowing cards for $5.00 at the circulation desk.  Other patrons may use the collection, but must contact their home library for interlibrary loan service should they wish to borrow a circulating book.

Because the law library collection is primarily a reference collection, most of the materials do not circulate outside the library.  The standard loan period for circulating materials is 30 days. Reserve materials must be used in the library.

Computer Use

You may access most of our online databases using law library computers and a public access ID and password.  Research librarians and circulation staff can assist you in using public computers and databases.  In addition, you can use your laptop on our wireless network 1 day a week.  (See Wireless Internet Access, below.)
