"Jefferson's Vision Fulfilled" While 1779 marks the beginning of legal education at William & Mary, the year 1762 is also a year of note in our history. That year, Dean Davison M. Douglas writes in the W&M Alumni Magazine, "George Wythe was asked to take on a particularly promising recent William & Mary graduate [Thomas Jefferson] as an apprentice in his law office." Jefferson's vision for legal education and Wythe's mentorship of many future leaders of the fledgling nation would have a profound effect on American history. Click here for story. |

Beijing Property Rights Conference to Focus on Global Perspectives On Oct. 14-15 the Property Rights Project will host its annual conference for the first time overseas in cooperation with Tsinghua University School of Law in Beijing. Justice Sandra Day O'Connor will receive the 2011 Brigham-Kanner Property Rights Prize at the conference and also will be a featured speaker.
