December 21, 2012 - The White House announced that President Obama appointed Professor Michael Ashley Stein to serve as a member of the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Council.
December 16, 2012 - BePress lists Professor Alan Meese as the most popular Antitrust and Trade Regulation author in its database of more than 900 authors. He also is listed in the top ten for Corporations and Enterprise Law in a database of more than 1,300 authors.
December 11, 2012 - In an Associated Press story, Professor Linda Malone, who is a pro bono counsel for Nguyen Quoc Quan, a Democracy activist detained in Vietnam, expressed concern about the possible long-term effects on Vietnam "if they come down on [a] U.S. citizen with an extreme sentence for peacefully advocating human rights." November 29, 2012 - Professor Adam Gershowitz was interviewed by WVEC ABC 13 about the process by which the Virginia Court of Appeals will issue a Writ of Actual Innocence. The issue was in the news following the release from prison earlier this month of a local man following a conditional pardon by Va. Governor Bob McDonnell.

November 25, 2012 - Professor Michael Steven Green spoke to the San Antonio Express-News about the prospects for extraterritorial application of the U.S. Constitution in a case that alleges that a Mexican citizen was shot and killed on Mexican soil by a U.S. Border Patrol agent who fired his gun from across the border.

November 18, 2012 - First Amendment scholar Timothy Zick is quoted in an on-line editorial published by The Virginian-Pilot titled "The Trouble With Virginia's Plates." The editorial examines a recent ruling by a Chesapeake, Va., Circuit Court judge that held that a DMV rule that bars "socially, racially, or ethnically offensive or disparaging" license plates is unconstitutional. Zick is the author of "Speech Out of Doors: Preserving First Amendment Liberties in Public Places."
